Queer Art Nights are one-time, stand alone events wherein participants get together to create art about academic scholarship in progress.
Prior to meeting, the event organizers send out drafts of articles or chapters to people who sign up in advance to attend. Participants read and discuss the chapters (think: reading group) and then create artwork that responds to the material or to their collective conversation about it.
The art featured here is a sample of what was produced at a series of Queer Art Nights in 2020, 2021, and 2022 where participants engaged with chapters of Carly Thomsen’s Queering Reproductive Justice.
